Effect of Achyranthes japonica extract on growth, digestibility, microbiota, gas emission, and meat quality in broilers fed different protein diets.

<italic>Achyranthes japonica</italic> extract (AJE) is a multifuctional products that express anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-microbial properties. This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of AJE addition standard low crude protein diet on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, excreta bacterial count, noxious gas emissions, breast meat quality, organ weight broiler chicken. A total 340 one-day-old Ross 308 broilers [initial body 43.10 ± 1.46 g, 5 replicate cages per treatment, 17 birds cage] were randomly distributed into 1 4 dietary treatment groups for 35 day trial. The diets provided based three age stage broiler. In starter fed basal diet. Experimental from 8 35. growing (days 8-21) finishing 22-35) fed: Standard (SCP) (LCP) with 0.025% 0.05% supplementation respectively. Here, SCP LCP 21.50% 20.86% CP during days 8–21 20.00% 19.40% 22–35, resulted in higher (<italic>P&lt;0.5)</italic> gain (BWG) at tendency lower feed conversion ratio (FCR) overall period compared or without supplemenation. Moreover, dry matter nitrogen digestibility increased along AJE. No significant difference found quality parameters except pH. Interestingly, NH<sub>3</sub> emission environment be less different levels supplementation. Therefore, we concluded improved performance fecal emissions.
